Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Pristina Receives CSR Appreciation Award in Kosovo
Pristina, 9 February 2026 – The Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Pristina, Mr. Eric Dietz, received the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) Appreciation Award, presented by the Kosovo CSR Network, in recognition of Luxembourg’s sustained contribution to sustainable and inclusive development in Kosovo.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Dietz underlined that the award reflects a collective effort and the strength of long-term partnerships:
“I accept this award not as a personal distinction, but as recognition of a collective effort - an acknowledgment of the tangible results achieved through Luxembourg’s development cooperation, in close partnership with Kosovo’s institutions, businesses, and civil society.”
Through LuxAid, Luxembourg’s development cooperation supports Kosovo’s green transition, sustainable energy reform, vocational education and training, and private-sector development.
Supporting sustainable energy and institutional reform
Luxembourg has worked closely with Kosovo’s institutions to advance structural reforms in the energy sector. Support has included assistance for renewable energy auctions, strengthening the governance and operational framework of the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Fund, digitalisation of monitoring systems, and alignment of energy legislation with European Union standards.
Cooperation with the Energy Regulatory Office has contributed to Kosovo’s integration into European energy market mechanisms, including membership in the Association of Issuing Bodies. Luxembourg is also supporting the development of Kosovo’s National Building Renovation Strategy and related energy efficiency frameworks.
Investing in skills and private sector development
In partnership with the Ministry of Education, Luxembourg has supported the development and accreditation of four new dual vocational education and training (VET) profiles in the field of renewable energy: photovoltaic solar systems, energy efficiency in buildings, wind turbines, and biomass technician. These programmes are now being implemented in several schools and are accompanied by investments in infrastructure, equipment, and teacher training.
To further encourage private‑sector participation in the green transition, Luxembourg launched, in September 2025, a EUR 1 million Clean Energy Grant Scheme supporting investments in solar energy, battery storage, and energy‑efficiency upgrades.
Civil society organisations remain important partners in ensuring that sustainability efforts generate inclusive benefits across communities.
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Dietz reaffirmed Luxembourg’s continued engagement:
“We remain a reliable partner, guided by shared values and a shared vision for sustainable economic development and inclusive growth.”
The award highlights Luxembourg’s long-standing partnership with Kosovo and its commitment to supporting the country’s green transition and economic development.
